Dr. Ralph Gabbard “The Myanmar Training Consortium”

Dr. Ralph Gabbard is a 2015 A.T. Steele awardee for his work with The Myanmar Training Consortium. This grant allows Dr. Gababrd to continue his work as co-chair of Myanmar Library Training Consortium (MLTC). After the successful completion of a pilot program in 2014, the consortium developed a new program based ralphgabbardon the results of the pilot program. The program expands formal and informal training opportunities for Myanmar librarians, but it seeks to intersect directly with areas of immediate scholarly and public concern, by placing academic libraries at the fulcrum of national debate about new roles of information, and historical documentation in emergent civil society formations. The grant proceeds will enable Dr. Gabbard to travel to Myanmar and meet with our library consistencies as well as the Minister of High Education to explain our new training program.
