ASU Library System Purchases New Films focused on Asian Studies

Dr. Ralph Gabbard is happy to announce that the library purchased a streaming video set titled “The Water Cries (16 videos) on the water crisis in China. These can be found on the libraries’ home page under Asia Pacific Films in the Research Databases tab .

The second film series, a five DVD set titled “The Mekong Delta” was recently ordered and should be here shortly.

The library is also aquiring a number of DVDs and streaming videos (either on order or already in the library) from Afghanistan, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Myanmar, and Southeast Asia including titles such as “The Boxing Girls of Kabul,” “Queer China, Comrade China,” “Jai Bhim Comrade, ” “Sun, Moon, Stars: The Indonesia Trilogy (DVDs), ” and “The road to Mandalay: Assessing the Myanmar Reform (FMG on demand).” For a complete list, please see our news page.
